Flow Yoga Center is located in the nation’s capital, Washington DC. In a bustling city where politicos roam, Flow Yoga Center seeks to be a cozy and humble home where you can have a cup of tea after class. The studio also emphasizes eco-friendliness, so all sinks have filtered water and it refrains from using paper and plastic when possible.
Flow Yoga Center’s class schedule contains a variety of classes. Iyengar, Vinyasa Flow, and Ashtanga (Mysore), are just some of the offerings here. There is also a level system; many classes require experience as designated by the level. With the level system, Flow Yoga center does not want students to feel restricted, but inspired to challenge themselves.
Flow Yoga Center’s teacher training is registered at the 200 Hr level with Yoga Alliance. The program lasts for several months. There are many required weekends to attend, and there is also a significant amount of self-study involved. To be accepted into the program, students must have practiced yoga for 2 years. Also, students must be a level 1.5 or 2 at Flow Yoga Center.
The studio has a versatile schedule, however, the teacher training is primarily Vinyasa. Highlights of the program are intensives in restorative techniques, Aryuveda, and Sanskrit immersion. Trainees will observe and assist in classes. Classes at the studio are included in the fee for the teacher training, and regular attendance is required. Several graduates of this training have been hired from within to teach at flow, and other graduates have found teaching jobs in studios, gyms, corporate institutions, and more.
Flow Yoga Center hosts many workshops, from bringing Jivamukti instructors in from New York City to Supersonic Kirtan. If you choose to take part, these workshops can enrich your teacher training experience.
