I LOVE YOGA. Yoga is my passion. It is my bliss. Yoga is sacred to me. I love to share it, learn it, and live it. I am a 200 hour Yoga Alliance certified instructor, and I have been looking forward to expanding upon my yoga wisdom by completing a 500 hour yoga certification course. I intend to teach yoga as long as I am alive, and I would like to eventually have my own yoga studio.
I appreciate the light and goodness in every yoga instructor. Each is different, unique, and inspiring to me. Though I do not have a favorite yoga teacher, Cloe Jackson has influenced me significantly in my yoga journey. She emits such radiance, along with a warm understanding of harmony and oneness. Her genuine gratitude for every aspect of life moves me, and I am honored to have had the chance to experience her pure beauty through taking some of her classes.
I would love to attend a yoga teacher training at Leela Mata Peaceful Valley Ashram for several reasons. When I discovered the school on this scholarship website, I was overwhelmed with the feeling that this is truly meant to be. First of all, the opportunity to experience living in an ashram, a goal of mine for quite a few years, would be absolutely amazing for me! Secondly, at Leela Mata, I would be learning Sampoorna Yoga. This type of yoga integrates Hatha, Raja, Karma, Bhakti, Jnana, and Nada Yoga, and its basic teaching is that health, peace, and joy are already within all of us. It is the yoga of fullness which focuses on harmony and purity within, in order to allow the light of the soul to shine and to inspire people to live richer, happier lives. This has been my focus well before I had ever heard of Sampoorna Yoga.
The third reason that I really want to go to Leela Mata for training is that they offer a 500 hour yoga certification, and from communicating with the school for details, I already sense their loving kindness. Finally, I grew up in Pennsylvania, and ‘coincidentally’, my home town is only an hour and a half away from this teacher training site. I am currently living in Arizona, and I miss my family daily. Training at Leela Mata Peaceful Valley Ashram would give me the opportunity to spend some time with my family and friends before and after the course.
Not only would I like to create an eclectic mix of movements and poses to form my own style of yoga someday, it is my dream to lead yoga teacher trainings in the future. I would feel honored to be able to spread the light of yoga to other instructors so that they could continue to share its goodness. As a yoga instructor and in life, I love to motivate and to learn while supporting others on their journeys to find their own mind, body, and soul connection. Believing that my primary purpose here on earth is to spread love and positive energy, I truly honor and encourage the light and truth within all beings. I plan to make an impact in the world as a yoga teacher by continuing to influence everyone to: BE FREE. LOVE LIFE. DO YOGA. (my motto)
