After you finish your training and begin your practice of becoming a teacher, keeping your motivation up can be a challenge. In this article, we are going to explore some important topics you will need to understand if you want to stay motivated as a yoga teacher.

Stay On Purpose

Building your business is not easy. Not every new student is going to be your best friend. So its going to be important that you remember why you decided to teach in the first place.

Remember to focus on giving of yourself and not always expecting a certain outcome. What will keep you motivated is if you are teaching from an authentic place and not doing it because you expect something to happen

Stay Focused

It’s going to be very important that each day you stay focused on a few key things and not allow yourself to get distracted. In a recent post from Tony Robbins, he says:

Leaders focus on what they can control, what they have, and what they want. Once you change your focus in this way, you will become a creator again, instead of just a manager of your life. It’s easy to lose that vision as you experience disappointments along the way. We’ve all been there – life seems to crush something that you were excited about, or someone betrays you, or you betray yourself.

This is a great advice because being in control of your mind is essential. Negative thoughts can send you in a downward spiral and you need to ensure that you do not let it get the best of you.

Use Motivation Tools

If you truly want to stay motivated, find tools that help keep you on track. Tools like Motivation Ping or affirmation programs can be of great assistance. Its going to be your job to ensure that you stay on top of your game.

In a recent article by Louise Hay, she says:

Your beliefs are merely habitual thinking patterns that you learned as a child. Many of them work very well for you. Other beliefs may be limiting your ability to create the very things you say you want. What you want and what you believe you deserve may be very different. You need to pay attention to your thoughts so that you can begin to eliminate the ones creating experiences you do not want in your life.”

By using affirmations, it conditions your mind to focus on what you do want rather than what you don’t want. This is going to be the key to your success if you want to stay motivated while you build your business.
