TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR SCHOOL:

Yoga Village of Clearwater is the premier yoga school and studio on Florida’s west coast.  Our schedule features a steady stream of day-, weekend-, and year-long teacher trainings that feature nationally and internationally-known experts in Hatha, Kundalini and spiritual practices.

TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE TEACHERS LEADING THE TEACHER TRAINING:

Shakta Khalsa is one of the world’s leading experts on children and yoga, having worked with both since the mid-1970s.  She is a trained yoga professional at the highest level (ERYT-500), and was named one of the top five Kundalini Yoga teachers in the world by Yoga Journal.  Shakta is a parent, an AMS-certified Montessori teacher, and the author of five well-known yoga books.  She is also the creator of Radiant Child ® Yoga, an internationally-known training program for teaching yoga to children.  Shakta will co-lead the training with Allison Morgan, MA, OTR, an occupational therapist for 22 years who is the founder of Zensational Kids.

WHAT CAN A STUDENT EXPECT TO LEARN FROM THE UPCOMING TRAINING?

Teachers and parents will learn leading edge yogic tools that can reach the hearts and minds of children with ADHD, Autism and other Sensory Processing differences. Shakta and Allison will share practical, hands-on techniques that teachers and parents can use with these special children to help them focus the mind, open the heart, and strengthen the body. They will help professionals and families alike discover what these very special children have to teach us!

WHAT TYPES OF STUDENTS DOES THIS TRAINING SUIT BEST?

The best students for this course are teachers and parents who work with, raise and/or live with children who have challenges such as ADHD or autism.

WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY LIKE DURING THIS TRAINING?

This is a very interactive course.  In a typical day, students will listen to information, practice a varity of yoga postures and meditations, share in discussions, and create practical ways to incorporate yoga for the children in their lives at home or in the classroom.
